The film I chose for this practice is Blade Runner 2049, a futuristic Sci-Fi movie.

It was released in 2017 and is the sequel to the 80s movie Blade Runner. It is directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars famous actors like Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Harrison Ford, and more.

Plot:

Thirty years after the events of Blade Runner (1982), a new Blade Runner, L.A.P.D. Officer «K» (Ryan Gosling) unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former L.A.P.D.

Architecture:

This movie adapts a futuristic look to architecture as it is set in 2049.

It shows a minimal style of architecture using simple shapes.

They are also trying to visualize brutalist architecture, which is a style characterized by minimalist constructions that showcase the bare building materials and structural elements over decorative design.

We can see the different shapes which also use symmetry in their design.

In addition, the skyline of the city is designed in a way that all the buildings look the same as they are minimalist and rectangle shaped buildings mostly.
